This project is an exploration of mountainous landscape; it seeks to investigate the process of landform, use and change. The focus is on an 80 hectare oasis known as the Silent Valley situated in the edge of the Mourne Mountains.

Carved by glaciers and flooded by man, the Silent Valley speaks out as an abstract environment. With south facing slopes and foreign flora it expresses the idea of the artificial picturesque being born out of the natural.

The proposal seeks to construct the nest phase of intervention in order to further cultivate and inhabit the landscape.
